Demand the Senate Vote Yes on a

Pathway to Citizenship

We kept the House, took back the White House from a white supremacist, and won the Senate. It’s time for Biden and Congress to Act and deliver a pathway to citizenship for our communities.

Our people power already got the House to act and pass the Dream & Promise Act and the Farm Workforce Modernization Act – which together will provide a pathway to citizenship for 5 million. Now, the ball is in the Senate’s court.  Contact your Senator and demand that they deliver a pathway to citizenship for our communities by April 30th!

HERE’S WHAT YOU CAN DO

Take Action

We’ll only win if we demand our Senators to act. Congress is waiting to hear from you! Take action by making a call or sending a letter to your Senator!

Step1: Send a Letter

Our immigrant communities deserve – and expect – Congress to provide a pathway to citizenship – without delay. The House has already taken action. Now, it’s time for the Senate to act.

Our communities need support now as COVID-19 continues to disproportionately threaten Black and brown communities, including immigrants. Passing citizenship is relief – and we need to turn up the pressure.

The Senate must bring the Dream Act, Secure Act (the Senate counterpart to Dream and Promise Act), and the Farm Workforce Modernization bills to the floor by April 30. With lives on the line, there is absolutely no justification in delaying passage of these bills and providing critical relief to millions of immigrants right now.

STEP 2: CALL YOUR SENATOR

The only way your Senator knows you care about them delivering on a pathway to citizenship is if you call them today. They need to hear from YOU! Simply tap in your information and check your phone. You’ll receive a call that connects you directly to your Senator. Use the sample script below as a guide. Don’t forget to tell them why a pathway to citizenship is so important to you and your family.

The Dream Act

Introduced by Senator Durbin, the Dream Act of 2021 would provide a pathway to citizenship to immigrant youth who came to the US before 2017 and at the time were 17 years or younger. This bill would cover DACA recipients as well as other immigrant youth who could not qualify for the DACA program, about 2 million people.

Secure Act

Introduced by Senators Van Holles, Cardin and Schumer, the Safe Environment from Countries Under Repression and in Emergency (SECURE) Act would provide a pathway to citizenship for beneficiaries of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and Deferred Enforcement Departure (DED). Currently, there are approximately 411,000 people with TPS in the United States from ten designated countries: El Salvador, Haiti, Honduras, Nepal, Nicaragua, Somalia, Sudan, South Sudan, Syria, and Yemen.

Farm WorkForce Modernization Act

Similar to its equivalent in the House, this bill would provide a pathway to citizenship to undocumented immigrants who work in the agricultural fields and who are an essential sector that brings food to the markets thus the tables of the American people. It would cover over 1 million farmworkers and their families.
